On définit généralement et vaguement la gastronomie comme une manière particulièrement attentive, souvent considérée comme élitiste, de cuisiner et, surtout de déguster des aliments.
Loin de cette conception sectaire, le restaurant "Aux Charpentiers" propose une approche toute différente. Dans ce grand bistrot style 1930, il semblerait, pour reprendre le sociologue Theodore Zeldin, que la gastronomie soit l'art d'utiliser la nourriture pour créer le bonheur.

Un bonheur accessible au plus grand nombre comme en témoigne le menu spécial à 28€. Aux Charpentiers on compte en effet parmi les clients aussi bien les étudiants que les éditeurs du quartier, les hommes politiques ou tout simplement les amateurs de tête de veau et de viandes du Limousin labellisées. L'ambiance est, comme la cuisine, haute en couleurs et en saveurs.
