With three weeks left in the sales (on until 10 February), now’s the time to make the most of them. So with fewer people and further reductions, just go for it!
The Montparnasse Saint Germain des Près neighbourhood is the dream location – less crowded than boulevard Haussmann and rue de Rivoli, and boasting an incredible number of shops. And the Aviatic Hotel is right at the heart of it all!

So take a look at our suggested itinerary...
With no time to waste, rue de Rennes is your first port of call.
The big high street names are all present and correct: Mango, Zara, Gap, Kookai, H&M, and Etam.
Nothing particularly special, but a little taste of what’s to come, just to whet your appetite.
The further down the road you go, the chic-er it gets, Kenzo, Céline, Lancel. Now things are hotting up.
En route, you will have crossed la rue du Vieux Colombier (with Zadig et Voltaire at number 1 and Agnès B at number 6), la rue du Four (Les Petites at number 10 and Maje at number 42). Already picked up a few purchases? You must have.
With shopping bags in your hands and calculations and images running round your head, a picture of your new self is starting to take shape.
After these brief stops by Saint Sulprice and rue du Four, follow your dreams to Sèvres Babylone.
A bit of advice – head straight for Bon Marché. They have a free cloakroom service – very practical when you’ve got your hands full of shopping. After all, it would be silly to turn down the bargain of the day simply because you can’t carry any more!
If you need a break, head for the Delicabar on the first floor for a well-deserved cup of tea.
Bon Marché is a cathedral of commerce for a congregation of customers (Emile Zola).
The big names in prêt a porter are all present, including Stella McCartney and her collection of organic lingerie.
At this stage in the proceedings, whether you’ve spent 50 euros or 500 euros, you’re already a shopping expert.
You could return to the Aviatic, but no...
Opposite the Bon Marché, you can’t miss Brand Bazar, a boutique on two floors.
You’ll find the hip brands of the moment (Antik Batik, Sandro, Cheap Monday, April 77, Ch.Ind, See by Chloe), bags, shoes, accessories, etc.
It’s the perfect place to end our journey, to go over things one last time and make sure you haven’t forgotten anything.
And then you can return to the hotel quietly via the rue du Cherche-Midi, you never know what you might find on the way...
